Marianna Debes Dahl : ウィキペディア英語版 | Marianna Debes Dahl Marianna Debes Dahl (24 November 1947) is a Faroese writer, born 1947 in Vestmanna, grew up in Tórshavn. She was educated as a school teacher in 1975 and worked as a teacher for some years, but in recent years she has worked as a writer full-time; she has also been working with producing broadcasts for the Faroese radio, Kringvarp Føroya.〔(Snar.fo, Marianna Debes Dahl (1947-) )〕 She was the president for the Association of Writers of the Faroe Islands from 1980 to 1981, she was the first woman to possess this post.〔(Rit.fo, Formenn 1957 - í dag (Presidents from 1957 until today) )〕 She was the first women who wrote an autobiography in Faroese, when she published ''Úti á leysum oyggjum'' (Out on loose islands) in 1997.〔(Kvinfo.dk )〕 == Bibliography == She has been active writing in different genres, since her debut in 1975 she has been written books for small children, children, youth and adults, short stories, novels, travelogues, plays and translations, including material for the Faroese radio, Kringvarp Føroya, which she has translated and edited. Her first book was the children's book ''Burtur á heiði'', which she wrote for a competition for children's books. Her book won the competition. In 1978 she received the Barnamentanarheiðursløn Tórshavnar býráðs, which is a children's cultural prize of Tórshavn City Council, handed annually in September since 1976.
